Perfect base for all the family when we gathered for our daughter’s wedding. Having all rooms en-suite was great and plenty of living space for 8 adults and 2 kids. Hosts were super responsive in the run up to arrival and accommodated our request for later checkout.

Sophie

We recently returned from a great mini break in Whitehaven - we were staying to climb Scafell Pike and the property was well located (Around a 50 minute drive away from Wasdale). A huge property with plenty of space for everyone, huge bedrooms (comfy beds), games room and even a hot tub in a private courtyard - we couldn't have asked for more! They even have a grass area across from the house which is enclosed and paw-fect for the dogs to mooch around in! Jacki contacted us prior to our arrival and explained in detail how to find the house which was really handy and she was very attentive throughout our stay despite being on holiday herself! The other hosts were also very helpful. We loved that the marina was in walking distance and had great food at both Zest Waterside (evening meal) and Abby's Cafe (breakfast) both a fairly short walk! We would definately return in the future and loved our short time in Cumbria! Thanks Guys!

Abbie

We had a great stay and couldn’t have asked for a better house for our weekend. It was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The host was lovely and helpful throughout, and communication was excellent. We’d definitely recommend staying here!

Lois

Thank you for the kind words & we’d be glad to host you sometime again 😊

Philip

Had such a lovely stay here for my birthday weekend! The lodge was beautiful, spacious and perfect for a big group. We had everything we needed and had such a fun, comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend and would happily come back again 🤍

Rica

We’re happy that your birthday weekend went perfect. You’re welcome anytime again 😊

There is a ghost who stays at the third floor so be wary lol, we named her Mary, she did leave the taps on and hide a fe

We had a lovely time staying in Corkickle. The house managers were lovely, so helpful and approachable. The house was well equipped, clean and very spacious. Loved being able to use the hot tub (which was all set up for us when we arrived) and not far to whinfell Forrest and St Bees beach.

Laura

Thanks for the lovely review 😊 we strive to always provide the best for our guests & hope to host you again

The house was gorgeous and even bigger than expecting! It had everything we needed and Jackie and Philip responded very quickly and helpful at any queries - even when we left some items at the house and they helped ship them back to us! Would definitely recommend this stay, it was walking distance from Whitehaven centre and there was some lovely walks and beaches at short distances.

The property was lovely for a large group gathering. Very clean, centrally located to shops and pubs, and the welcome gift was gratefully received. The hosts were very accommodating, responsible and helpful. Thank you!

Adelle

Thank you so much for your kind words! We're delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back again soon.

Lovely place nothing negative to say honestly! Everything was exactly as described and definitely worth the price. Lovely host who gave us a super helpful tour at check in. Overall perfect stay, would recommend if you're visiting as a big group.

Natalie-Jane

Lovely big, spacious Georgian house. Large, well decorated bedrooms in a good location, with easy access to local amenities.

The house was beautifully done up. There was loads of extras involved with the property. Jacki met us at the house after granting an early check in and gave us everything we needed. Always on hand to help out where they can. The area itself was quiet and peaceful and was nearby everything we needed. We would definitly stay again!

Robson

We all really enjoyed our stay here. Beautifully clean comfortable and spacious accommodation. Lovely walks on your doorstep and a great base to explore Cromford and Matlock and surrounding areas.

Nick

Amazing stay by the beach! Host was really welcoming and helpful

Umar

The Annexe is a unique find with 4 ensuite bedrooms & ample parking . The Kitchen is very well equipped & the property was spotlessly clean . The Host was amazingly helpful too ! The Property would benefit from a Dishwasher & outside table & chairs would make the place perfect . Th

Great place for a family weekend and everyone had their own bathroom which was great. Minor issue with the shower but this is now being fixed. Not easy to find without What3Words so I would recommend using the app. The lounge furniture has changed since the photo was taken so it looks slightly different but still the same amount of seats. Everything was nice and clean and there were some lovely welcome gifts waiting for us. Plenty of entertainment for the children with the pool table etc. The kitchen was well equipped- it could just do with a few more water glasses but apart from that we had everything we needed to make a meal and there was plenty of fridge space too. Overall great stay and ideal for a large group.

Rachel

Beautiful home, loved the hot tub! Good space in each room, comfy beds. Well located house with it being around supermarkets and fast food places. I have an EV so having a charging station close by was great. We came to visit Lake District, and this house is around 45-60 mins away from different parts of it. Hosts are very accommodating and helpful. Reply quick and make sure everything is good enough for us.

Anas

We had a lovely stay for my aunties 50th birthday celebrations. The house is absolutely huge and gorgeously decorated and is in a great location just a 10/15 minute walk into Whitehaven.

Katie

We’re truly honoured to have been a part of such a special occasion. It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the space, the decor, and the location. And above all, we’re so glad you all had a great time, it was an absolute pleasure hosting you. You’d be very welcome back anytime!

Lovely House and very Massive! Love the interior and spacious! Very close to the centre.

Sharlou

Fabulous house. So spacious and well equipped. Nine of us, 1 baby and a dog had lots of room. Would recommend this property and Jacki was really welcoming and helpful.

first of all, Philip was an incredible host. he was very accommodating to the changes we requested to our booking and was very easy to communicate with. we were then contacted by a woman named Jacki, who was also very lovely and gave us very clear communication regarding how to find the place and other details about the place. she made sure that we were able to check-in smoothly and also checked up on us the following day, which was a lovely gesture. as for the place - it was incredible and certainly one of the best places i’ve stayed in, which i’m sure will also be echoed by my friends who were with me. it was as described on the listing and probably even exceeded our expectations as pictures can really only show so much. everything was clean and tidy, the beds and sofas were comfortable, and just overall a very lovely and cosy place to stay in. 5 stars from us all around!

Carl Jerome

Lovely location on the outskirts of Belper. Excellent accommodation for a large family.

Richard

I booked this house for a 40th birthday weekend away with the family. Communication from Philip and Jacki was excellent prior to, during and at the end of the stay. Jacki met us at the home to check us in early and allowed later departure - they were so accommodating. She also left a 40th Balloon, card, wine and chocolates for my 40th Birthday - Thank you so much for the lovely gesture. Bedrooms are huge and lovely decorated - everyone slept so well and beds were comfortable. My 11 year old nephew loved playing table football in the games room (a dart board would have been great). Some of the party enjoyed the hot tub outside which was very private with the high walls. Managed to fit 3 cars parked in the side alley and for the other 2 cars there were 2 addition parking badges for the nearby hotel. Everything from start to finish was fantastic and great communication by the hosts, would highly recommend. Thanks for a great stay.

Melissa

Everything has been superb 😊 the host was really proactive and responsive even prior to the booking date. The house was clean and comfortable to stay in for 2 nights. The location was also convenient for food shopping errands since it’s close to Morrison’s. It was a great experience overall.

Firenze

The host was very responsive! We were greeted by Jackie who showed us around and then left us to it. We had a great time Thankyou

We had a brilliant time at the house for our annual family gathering. Great location for exploring during the day and the time spent at the house was fantastic. The outside area is great for relaxing and indoors the pool table, dart board and table soccer are great fun. We will definitely love to return someday

We had a long weekend for a family gathering of varying ages from 4 - 87. The house was down a long track however the what3words location took you right to the driveway so easy to find. We arrived with ease and check in was a lock box and super easy to do. We were even able to check in early as the cleaners had been and Philip gave us the thumbs up. The house was spotless throughout and the bedding was immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped for every day cooking. Each bedroom had an en-suite which was handy for us all. The garden was well played in by my daughter and even though it was on slope she had great fun. Our only wish was for some outside seating as my grandparents found it a bit tough getting up and down from the grass. The location was beautiful and surrounded by fields and public walkways into Belper itself. All in all we had a fabulous stay and Philip was a great host and even left some lovely treats for check in - thank you

Rebecca

had a great stay, couldn't recommend more.

Carl

Excellent accommodation with plenty of space, amazing facilities within a really characterful property. Perfect for groups and celebrations, especially with hot tub and pool table etc. I’d also now consider this place for a family holiday as nice outdoor area and walkable to the coast. Communication was fantastic and that rally made the difference, with the messages and calls which were clear and friendly. Loved the local knowledge and appreciated the recommendations. Also lots of parking out the front which is helpful. Kitchen really nice and was a highlight.

Christos

The house was so beautiful and was ideal for our group for the weekend! Would definitely book again!

Rebekah

Lovely big old house. Lots of amenities, lots of rooms and bedrooms all furnished well. Kitchen a really big size with table and plenty of chairs and lots of utensils and crockery. Games room great for the kids and everyone loved the hot tub. We were greeted at the door by Jacki who explained everything and gave some good advice on where to go and was always on call if we needed anything. We celebrated a 70th and a second birthday whilst we were there and Jacki surprised us with cake, biscuits , wine etc which was really appreciated. Would love to stay again and would definitely recommend to any friends and family.

Janet

Myself and 7 friends with two dogs stayed at this residence for a weekend away in the Peak District. It was a lovely space, with 4 large en-suite bedrooms exactly as shown in the pictures. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything that we needed, along with a spacious area featuring a large dining table and gaming area separate from another living room with TV. The house is situated in the countryside but only a very short (<5 min) drive from the nearest town Belper which has a nice mix of shops , restaurants and pubs. Philip was an excellent host who replied to us promptly and made our stay smooth and comfortable, addressing any questions we had. Would definitely recommend to any groups looking to explore the Peak District, and is very suitable for those with pets and/or children.

Vivek

Philip and Jacki were fantastic hosts, made us feel really welcome and the house was lovely....big and roomy and plenty of space for our group of 9. Hot tub was lovely too, everything was clean and lovely decor.

Kirsty

Great house, perfect for our group of 12 adults. Easy to find with good parking for 4 cars. 4 large double rooms, 2 with an additional single bed, and 2 rooms containing 2 single beds each. 2 bathrooms with showers, along with 1 on-suite, and a single toilet. Large interior with dining room and lounge; everything you could ask for when hosting a large group. Darts and snooker table excellent extras and the hot tub was an amazing bonus! Excellent communication with hosts with clear instructions and knowledge of the local area. Local Coop shop and larger morisons with petrol station, all within a 10 minute walk. We visited the Italian Coco Chapel restaurant around the corner which was superb. Overall I would highly recommend and return if visiting the area.

Freya

Great place and ideally located. Nice and clean, great bathrooms for all rooms, everything you need for a few days or a week away

Accommodation has been booked for my work colleagues. Great location and accommodation for them. Thank you for being a great host and no doubt we will see you soon. IES Utilities.

Absolutely brilliant and even bigger/nicer than the photos

We had a lovely time with some friends at Phillips house, we were greeted with some lovely goodies on arrival and couldn’t fault the amazing games and very well equipped kitchen. It had all we needed for a Sunday roast! Would definitely recommend to everyone friends/family gatherings

Louise

Very lovely place to stay the host was great and the area was very nice

Carol

The home is beautiful just what we needed for 9 of us Plenty of space we will defo book again

Lucy

We stayed at the Bulls head for 2 nights, Phillip was extremely responsive to my questions prior to booking. The property is perfectly located in the middle of the village and close to all the pubs, restaurants and shops. Everything was clean and tidy and the facilities and location where perfect for the family weekend break we had planned.

We had a lovely couple of days spent here! The house is massive but still felt cosy and warm. Sat by the log fire was a dream. The kitchen had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend

It's wonderful that the living room accommodated your group comfortably. We are glad you enjoyed the village too. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at the Annex! Everything was as described and more. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who might consider finding a dog-friendly cottage for a large group of people. They had loads of boardgames to keep the kids busy, which was lovely. And nice public footpaths close by! Beautiful surroundings!

Anneke

Our stay was amazing and the house had everything we needed! Great location too. Philip was responsive and ensured our stay went smoothly, even accommodating a slightly later checkout. We’ll be back!

A lovely stay for multiple families, the house was great for us all. Excellent communication throughout and really good value for money. Thank you.

Thanks very much to Jacki for a wonderful stay at Abbey Farm House. We stayed in St Bees as a group of 12 for my wife's birthday and had a wonderful time. The kitchen is well equipped and perfect for group cooking and a comfortable stay for us all, particular thanks for turning the aga up for us! The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the pool table and hot tub were fantastic. We all had a great time!

Henry

We were a large family gathering aged between 2 and 83 and there was something for everyone in the house. We had a fabulous stay and the hosts could not have been more responsive. This was the first time we'd visited St Bees and found it quaint and beautiful, the beach and village were in easy walking distance. The only downside to our stay was the aga in the kitchen wasn't working so it wasn't the cosy family space we were hoping for, that said we were provided with a heater and once everyone was in there the temperature soon warmed up. It's worth noting that the downstairs room next to the kitchen can get quite noisy so plan your sleeping spaces accordingly.. We would highly recommend this property for large gatherings and would love to visit in the summer months when we can make full use of the beach.

Sharon

We Arrived to be greeted by the lovely host who showed us around. There was a lovely hamper on the side with some beers and wine in the fridge. The place was decorated with 2 Christmas trees and decorations all around. The place was very clean and tidy. We all agreed that the beds were very comfy in all the rooms. The beech is a short walk from the properties and a couple of local pub to chill out in. We didn't want for anything. Plenty of towels, toiletries and even dog towels and bowls aplenty. The five days we stayed there over Christmas we was lucky with the weather. Sun was out but a bit chilly. But I can imagine in the summer it would be even more amazing.

Steven James

Such an amazing stay with 7 mum's and 7 babies. excellent facilities for us all. cots and high chairs were available where needed. would definitely recommend for large groups. great communication and support from Jackie. The cinema room was perfect as a male shift crèche and chill out area once we baby proofed it. Philip also reached out regularly on here to see if support was needed and everything was okay.

Naomi

We stayed at Abby Farmhouse in St Bees for a weekend getaway as a group of four families (9 adults and 4 kids), and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The property is spacious, clean, and very well-maintained, giving us plenty of room to relax and enjoy our time together. The location is fantastic — peaceful and scenic, yet just a short distance from the beach, which was a big bonus for all of us. There were lots of amenities and activities for the kids, which kept them happily entertained throughout the stay, while the adults enjoyed the comfortable common areas and the overall charm of the farmhouse. Overall, Abby Farmhouse was the perfect base for our group getaway. We had a great time and would happily return. Highly recommended!

Sujith

We booked this house for a group of 11 of us and with 3 couples and 5 singles, everyone had their own room! The house was absolutely perfect for us in every way! The Kitchen/diner made for a perfect setting for the first night of catching up and the second night for our murder mystery game! It was also away from the main bedrooms so quiet for those who went to bed/had a lie in but the ground floor bedrooms were perfect for the babies who went to bed and needed the monitors to be in range. The dogs also absolutely loved it and the provision of treats, bowls and towels was such a lovely touch, plus the short walk to the beach meant they were in heaven. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless with beautifully soft linen and towels and Jacki the host couldn't have done more for us. Thank you so much for having us - we didn't want to leave!

Natasha

This property was perfect for my daughter’s 21st birthday party w/e Jackie met us at the property and assisted us on everything required. Had everything we needed and location was great for walking to the beach. The jacuzzi was amazing a lovely touch to the property.

Joanne
